Industry Guest Lectures are an essential component of the acting curriculum at the FAMA Institute of Arts & Media, and attendance is MANDATORY for all students. These lectures are offered free of charge to students only, providing students with invaluable opportunities to engage with established professionals from the theater, television, and film industries.
During these two-and-a-half-hour sessions, the Institute hosts a distinguished guest—such as an actor, director, or producer—to share their expertise. The event typically begins with an in-depth interview conducted by a member of our faculty, followed by an interactive segment where the guest engages directly with the students, facilitating a Q&A or practical workshop experience.

Acting on Camera
Acting on Camera I is an introductory course for actors to learn the fundamentals of acting in front of a camera. Whether you’re new to acting or making the transition from stage to screen, this class will help you become more comfortable, confident, and natural in front of the camera. Students will be a part of an original short film at the end of the semester.
Locations: This class is offered in both our Astoria and Manhattan studios.
Schedule: This is a 36-week course, running from September 28th to June 21st. The class is split into two 18-week semesters, where students can take part in just one or both semesters.
Classes are Mondays 6:30-9:00pm or Saturdays 4:30-7:00 pm in Manhattan, and Fridays 6:00-8:30 in Astoria.
Prices: Our Manhattan class is $360 per month and our Astoria class is $280 per month.

Acting on Camera II
Acting on Camera II is designed for students who have completed the first class or have previous on-camera experience. This class takes the scene work to the next level, challenging students to explore deeper performances and stronger choices, while working closely with a director. Students will be a part of an original film production at the end of the semester.
Location: This class is offered only at our Astoria location.
Schedule: This is a 36-week course, running from October 1st to June 24th. The class is split into two 18-week semesters, where students can take part in just one or both semesters.
Classes are Thursdays 6:30-9:00 pm in Astoria.
Price: This class is $280 per month.

Acting for Theater I
Acting for Theater I is intended for students with no prior theater experience and who are looking for a place to begin their acting journey. Students will have an accelerated learning experience similar to a college-level course, where they will go from learning the fundamentals of theater to presenting scenes in front of a real audience at the end of the semester.
Locations: This class is offered in both our Astoria and Manhattan studios.
Schedule: This is a 36-week course, running from October 1st to June 24th. The class is split into two 18-week semesters, where students can take part in just one or both semesters.
Classes are Thursdays 6:30-9:00 pm in Manhattan and Saturdays 4:00-7:30 pm in Astoria.
Price: Our Manhattan class is $260 per month and our Astoria class is $180 per month.

Acting for Theater II
Acting for Theater II is designed for students who have completed the first class or have previous acting experience. This class builds upon the teachings of the first class and places particular emphasis on advanced text analysis, artistic freedom, and more practical applications of acting techniques through the rehearsal and performance of a full theatrical production.
Location: This class is offered only at our Astoria location.
Schedule: This is a 36-week course, running from September 29th to June 15th. The class is split into two 18-week semesters, where students can take part in just one or both semesters.
Classes are Tuesdays 6:30-9:00 pm in Astoria.
Price: This class is $180 per month.

Acting on Camera for Teens and Kids
This class offers kids and teens a fun and supportive introduction to acting for film and television. Through games, improvisation, and filmed exercises, students will develop listening skills, creativity, and the ability to tell a story naturally on screen. The focus is on learning and encouragement while still having fun in front of the camera.
Locations: This class is offered in both our Astoria and Manhattan studios.
Schedule: This is a 36-week course, running from October 3rd to June 28th. The class is split into two 18-week semesters, where students can take part in just one or both semesters.
The teen classes in Manhattan are Saturdays 2:00-4:00 pm and in Astoria are Fridays 3:30-5:30 pm.
The kids' classes in Manhattan are Mondays 5:00-6:30 pm or Saturdays 11:00-12:30 pm, and in Astoria are Tuesdays 5:00-6:30 pm.
Prices: Teen classes in Manhattan are $320 per month and in Astoria are $260 per month.
Kids classes in Manhattan are $290 per month and in Astoria are $250 per month.

This introductory class invites children and teens to play, imagine, create, and grow through the world of theater. Classes are filled with energetic warm-ups, movement, voice work, improvisation, storytelling, and creative games that inspire curiosity and spark the imagination. Students will develop the skills early on to express themselves confidently and begin their acting journey.

The teen classes in Manhattan are Thursdays 4:00-6:00 pm or Fridays 5:30-7:30 pm, and in Astoria are Wednesdays 5:00-7:00 pm.
The kids' classes in Manhattan are Mondays 3:30-5:00pm or Fridays 3:30-5:00 pm, and in Astoria are Tuesdays 5:00-6:30 pm or Wednesdays 3:20-4:50 pm.
Prices: Teen classes in Manhattan are $250 per month and in Astoria are $170 per month.
Kids classes in Manhattan are $240 per month and in Astoria are $150 per month.

Theater History I
Theater History I is aimed at theater students who want to learn the origins and history of theater, from Ancient Greek to the Shakespearean Theater. Students will learn the playwrights, the movements, the ideologies, the technology, and the performances that shaped theater as we know it.

Schedule: This is a 12-week course, running from November 4th to February 3rd.

Creative Writing I
This class is for aspiring writers seeking to refine and expand their stageplay composition skills. Students will engage in essential dramatic elements, including dialogue construction, thematic development, and character arc creation, so they may have the skills to complete an original stageplay.
